The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) of Tikambhai Metha Commerce College was established in September 2018 along with the same objective set by DLLE of the University of Mumbai – ‘Reach to Unreached’.

The department aims to make students socially and culturally sensitive to impart benefits to the society as a whole. The department has opted for four Extension Work Projects of Skill Development –

Vocation Career Oriented Projects:

Anna Poorna Yojana [APY] ,
Industry Orientation Project [IOP],

Community Oriented Projects:

Population Education Club (PEC),
National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS),
Status of Women in Society [SWS]

Objectives:

  • To help students to find out information about a career before undertaking it
  • To develop entrepreneur skills in students by giving them opportunities to pursue small business modules
  • To enhance student employability skills
  • To create the social awareness among the students
  • To inculcate sense of social commitment among the students

Following activities undertaken by DLLE Unit is in alignment with motto of the college – “Higher Education for the Deprived Ones” IT Skilled base workshop- Power point Workshop, Excel Workshop, Creating Google form, Email writing etiquette workshop DLLE conduct many activities as essay writing, Poster making, Poem recitation, elocution competition, quiz competition, field visit, guest talk, social awareness activities etc.

Students participate in annual inter collegiate festival UDAAN organized by University of Mumbai.
